- Anti-panic 0.5 lux Open areas: spacing for at least 0.5 lux across the floor.
- Escape route 1 lux Escape routes: spacing for at least 1 lux along the centre line.
- Transverse and axial The two directions of the luminaire: across it, and along it.
- “to wall” The furthest a luminaire can be from a wall. The others are the furthest apart two luminaires can be.
